After graduating in 1988 from Drexel University in Philadelphia, USA, I relocated to the San Francisco area to start my career with a Silicon Valley fiber optic start-up venture. As the company grew in sales from $30K-$15 million, I helped to establish a joint venture with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in Shenzhen, China, and served as a founding International Advisory Board member. I subsequently held both operations and general management roles growing successful start-up ventures in several industries including wholesale outdoor sporting goods, Internet retail, healthcare, and management consulting. While managing the Regional Sales Office for a medical supply company, in 2004 I became the Board President–Elect for the Washington State Pacific Association of Medical Equipment Suppliers (PAMES).
In early 2007, I was able to channel all my skills and expertise into International Education. I moved to Beirut, Lebanon where I co-founded an internationally recognized IB World School and grew it from 22 students to over 400 in six years. The school promoted an inquiry-based, high tech, action-oriented learning environment. While in Lebanon, I have also subcontracted with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), offering workshops on Interviewing and Resume Writing skills for youth in South Lebanon. I also consulted on other school start-ups in the MENA region. In 2013, I completed a diploma in Sustainable International School Governance from the European Council of International Schools and I completed my M.S. in Global and International Education in June 2017. I am an active participant in the highly inspirational local socio-educational change community.
