Sir Ken Robinson advocates for revolutionary change in the way we view what should be happening in schools

Sir Ken Robinson advocates for revolutionary change in the way we view what should be happening in schools.  This is one of several talks by Sir Ken, whose original talk on how schools kill creativity inspired us to join the TED community in the first place.  It reminded us of John Dewey’s famous quote…”Education is not preparation for life, education is life.”  We showed that talk to a group of teachers (and later on Parents) in our school and used it to promote a discussion of what kind of life we want for kids in our school community.  Those discussions inspired many of our teachers and parents to realize the importance of opening up space for something different to happen in classrooms AND THE IMPORTANCE OF ALLOWING THE UNEXPECTED TO HAPPEN.  We never hesitate to say that WE STAND WITH SIR KEN!!!
